CHARLTON: Irene (Lorenz) Stearns, 74, of Southbridge Rd. died, Saturday, April 24th in her home after an illness. Her husband Edward Stearns died in 1998.
She leaves three sons Edward F. Stearns III and his wife Lori of Charlton, Richard Stearns and his wife Kathy of Sturbridge, James Stearns of Charlton, a daughter Tammy Mitchell and her husband Mark of Charlton, a sister Lieselotte Cooper of Martin, Tenn, five grandchildren Ed, Nicole, Kayla, Jordan, Meghan.
She was born in Germany the daughter of Wilhelm and Emile (Schneider) Lorenz and lived in Charlton many years.
She and her husband Ed, owned and operated Stearns Dressed Meats Inc since 1977.
She was a member of St. Joseph parish.
Mrs. Stearns was a member and past president of the Hayloft Steppers. She enjoyed traveling and especially her family.
Her funeral Mass will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, April 29th, in St. Joseph Church, H. Putnam Rd. Charlton. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Charlton.
Calling hours are 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 9:00PM Wednesday, 28th, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Macy St. Southbridge.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St. Springfield, Ma. 01104.
