Herman Bayless
February 27, 1959 — April 14, 2011
STURBRIDGE – Herman Taylor Bayless, Attorney, age 52, of Gay Rd., died April 14, in a single vehicle accident. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie (Bonnett) Bayless. He leaves his five children, James Gentile, and his wife, Beth, of Thompson, CT, Herman Bayless Jr., and his wife, Kaitlyn, of Sturbridge, Daniel Bayless, of Wakefield, RI, and twins, Victoria Bayless, and Sierra Bayless, both of Sturbridge; his grandchildren Rhylie Bayless, Sophie Bayless, and Roxy Gentile; his mother, Dorothy Bayless, of Falls Creek Falls, TN; his brother, Howard Bayless, of Huntsville, AL; his sister, Melissa Bayless, of TN; and several other family members and friends.
Having accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior as a child, Herman is a lifelong Christian of the Baptist faith. He is the son of the late Garland Hink Bayless and Dorothy Hale Bayless, and was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Fall Creek Falls, Tennessee. Herman graduated from The McCallie School, Harvard University, and Vanderbilt University School of Law.
He was a devoted family man, dedicated to his role as a father. He was also a committed attorney, and was very passionate about his work.
A scholarship fund has been set up for the Bayless children for college expenses. Donations may be made to James Gentile ITF Bayless Children, 13 Leon St., Thompson, CT 06277.
Calling hours will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a service at 8:00pm, Thursday, April 21, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Sampson Freewill Baptist Church, Route 30 Bledsoe County, Tennessee with Brother Bill Montandon officiating. Burial will follow at the Beach Cemetery in Bledsoe County Tennessee beside his wife, Marjorie.
