CHARLTON: Herbert G. Anderson: It has pleased God to call home his servant Herbert George Anderson, who died on March 13, 2010 at his home in Charlton.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Jean C. (Walker) Anderson; children Mark G. Anderson of Budenheim, Germany, Andrew P. Anderson and his wife Ruth of Charlton, Stephen A. Anderson and his wife Debra of Littleton and Lynn M. Anderson of Woodstock, Ct., sisters Marion Schonbeck and Gurlie Anderson of Worcester, eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was born on May 5, 1937 on a farm in Charlton, the son of Axel and Anne (Backman) Anderson. He came to Worcester at an early age and later lived in Oxford and Charlton.
Mr. Anderson worked for 34 years at Mass Electric as a meter reader and Field Representative, retiring in 1998.
His greatest joy was being in service for God. He gave his heart to ministry at the age of fourteen and never faltered in his walk with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He served as Youth Leader, Sunday School Superintendent, Bible Teacher, Lay Leader, Lay Speaker and Deacon.
He was the founder of Resurrection Ministries a Bible based home church in Charlton.
Many were the seeds he sowed for the Lord’s garden. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family.
His funeral will be held at 10:30AM, Thursday, March 18th, in the Charlton City United Methodist Church 74 Stafford St. Charlton. Burial will follow at West Ridge Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
