Hector Delgado

SOUTHBRIDGE: Hector “Papo” Delgado, 56, of Maple Terrace, died Friday, Nov, 18 at UMASS Medical Center after being stricken ill on Oct 31.
He leaves his wife of 33 years Enelida (Freytes) Delgado, a son Luis O. Delgado of Southbridge, his mother and step-father Candida Planell and Juan Medina of Manati, PR, a brother Daniel Delgado of San Juan, PR, a sister Leida Delgado of Manati, PR.
Papo worked for Schott North America in Southbridge for many years. He had an Associate’s degree in Chemistry. During the Vietnam War he served in the US Army.
He was a founding member of one of the first Latino groups in Southbridge. He was a former member of ASPIRA of Massachusetts.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 23 from the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge, followed with a Mass at 10AM in St. Mary’s of Blessed John Paul II Parishes, 267 Hamilton St. Southbridge. Burial will be in Puerto Rico.
