Harold Paine

August 17, 1941 — May 11, 2011

SOUTHBRIDGE – Harold R. Paine, Sr., 69, of Newman Ave., died Wednesday, May 11, at UMass Memorial Hospital from long term respiratory complications.  Harold, better known as “Bob,” left behind his loving family, including his wife of 40 years, Marie C. (Trahan) Paine; five children, Angela M. Paine, Harold R. Paine, Jr., Allen J. Paine, Patrick M. Ward, and Michael P. Paine; four grandchildren; four sisters, Trudy Paine, Joyce Langlois, Lauren Paine and Sandra Paine; two brothers, David Langlois and Arthur Langlois; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by one brother, Joseph Paine.

He was born in Southbridge, the son of the late Harold P. and Frances (Charron) Paine, and lived in the area his entire life.  Bob retired from Pratt & Whitney after 30 years of service as a welder working on plane engines.  In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching golf, hunting, cooking, and watching war films.  He was known for being a hard working, generous man.  He always put his family and friends before himself, and was described by his family as selfless.  To many, he was an employee, co-worker, and a friend, but to his family, he was a hero.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, May 23 in West Ridge Cemetery, Main St., Charlton.  The Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.  An online guestbook is available at www.BelangerFuneralHome.com.
