Grace Grant

SOUTHBRIDGE/WEBSTER – Grace A. (DiOrio) Grant, 93, formerly of South St., died on Thursday, June 23, in Lanessa Extended Care.  Her husband of 54 years, Harold L. Grant, died in 1991.  She leaves two sons, H. Kenneth Grant, and his wife, Judith, of PA and Peter J. Grant, and his wife, Sherrill, of Dudley, and a daughter, Cynthia A. Grant, of Dudley; five grandchildren, Cathy, Donna, James, Erik, and Jacob; ten great grandchildren, Morgan, Seth, Emily, Kevin, Gavin, Griffin, Juliana, Michael, Lucas, and Molly; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by one grandson, John, one brother, Louis, and four sisters, Veronica, Margaret, Leah, and Beatrice.

She was born in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Frank and Isabella (LaRoche) DiOrio.  Grace worked for Old Sturbridge Village as a candle maker and clerk for over 25 years. 

She was a member of the Elm Street Congregational Church and a member of its Women’s Group.  She enjoyed volunteering at the town polls during elections, as well as gardening and crafts.  Grace was a fantastic cook and she loved to spend her summers at Big Alum Lake in Sturbridge.
