Gilbert Wood

SOUTHBRIDGE – Gilbert Wood, 77, of Seekonk, MA, died, Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, in his daughters home after an illness.  He leaves his wife, Grace (Elderkin) Wood; two sons, Gilbert Wood, Jr., and Bryan Wood, both of Seekonk; two daughters, Joan Maricola, of Southbridge, and Gail Wood, of Seekonk; one granddaughter, Tracy Samuelian, of Southbridge; one grandson, Dennis Samuelian, Jr., of Attleboro, MA; two sisters, Doris Wood, of East Providence, and Hazel Wood, of Providence.  He was predeceased in 2007 by one son, Tom Wood.

He was born on Dec. 17, 1930, in Seekonk, MA, the son of the late James H. and Alice (North) Wood.  He lived in Seekonk his entire life.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean Conflict.

A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2008, in the Seekonk Free Methodist Church, Taunton Avenue, Seekonk, MA.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge, MA.  An online guestbook for Gilbert is available at www.BelangerFuneralHome.com.
