SOUTHBRIDGE: Gerard Olin, 79, of Tillyer Ave, died, Sunday, April 28, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 41 years Judith (Shaw) Olin, His extended family Raymond and Linda (Shaw) Simpson, of Sturbridge, Gordon and Carol (Shaw) Simpson of Sturbridge.
He was born in Stamford,CT. He was predeceased by his mother Mabel (Allen) Schmidt and step father Howard Schmidt.
He graduated from Berlin High School, Berlin, NH and served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Gerard owned and operated Colonial Travel in Southbridge for 30 years before selling the business in 1997.
He was a member of the Exchange Club and the American Society of Travel Agents.
He enjoyed traveling, cruising and reading.
He and his wife Judie enjoyed spending time at their summer residence in Popham Beach, Maine.
His funeral will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, May 1, in the Sturbridge Federated Church, at the intersection of Maple St. and Rt. 131 in Sturbridge. A calling hour will be held from 10:00AM to 11:00AM in the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at North Cemetery.
