SOUTHBRIDGE: Gerald G. LaFrance, aged 73, passed away on Monday, May 20, at Brookside Rehab & Nursing Facility in Webster. He was born in Plattsburg, NY to the late John and Clara (Bechard) LaFrance. Gerry is survived by his brother Donald LaFrance of Johnson City, TN; his sister Jeanette Georges of Johnson City, TN; sister-in-laws Sue LaFrance, Holly LaFrance, Paula LaFrance; nieces and nephews Michelle Durham, Michael LaFrance, Jeremiah LaFrance, Kim Gray, Rick Georges, Nicole Bowen, and Jonathan LaFrance.
He was predeceased by his wife beloved wife Georgeanne LaFrance, brothers Andrew LaFrance (9/22/1992), Norman LaFrance (10/15/1995), Robert LaFrance (1/27/2022), and brother-in-law Rich George (3/1/1996).
Gerry graduated from Our Lady of Victory High School in 1969 and later enlisted in the US Navy where he served as a machinist mate for 6 years. Known for his lovable character, Gerry had a keen eye for high fashion clothing. He found joy in music and had a passion for string art.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 31, from 5 to 6:30 PM at the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home on 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. The funeral service will follow at 6:30 PM after the calling hours.
He will be laid to rest at The Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brookside Nursing and Rehab at 11 Pontiac Ave in Webster, MA 01570 or Brookhaven Hospice, 114 Turnpike Rd., suite 206, Westborough, MA 01581.
