George Normandin
June 17, 1926 — May 19, 2006
SOUTHBRIDGE: George N. Normandin, of Lebanon Hill Rd., died Friday, May 19th in his home after a lengthy illness. He leaves his wife of 57 years Nancy (Wilkinson) Normandin, a daughter Jill (Normandin) Leach of Southbridge, a daughter in law Rita (Desrosiers) Normandin of Southbridge, three grandchildren Nathan Normandin, Christopher Leach, Benjamin Normandin, six brothers Allard Normandin, Paul Normandin, Peter Normandin all of Southbridge, James Normandin of Sturbridge, David Normandin of Mesa, AZ., Thomas Normandin of St. Cloud, FL., two sisters Antoinette Benoit of Southbridge, Anne Marie Aho of Sturbridge, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son Jack Normandin who died in 2003, four brothers Harvey Normandin, Richard Normandin, Robert Normandin, Rene Normandin and a sister Alice Normandin.
He was born in Southbridge the son of Zepherin and Cecile (Duhamel) Normandin and lived here all his life. He served in the Navy during WWII and was stationed in Washington DC.
Mr. Normandin retired from The Southbridge Evening News where he worked as a graphic artist and compositor for forty two years. He enjoyed gardening, vacationing at the ocean and working in his workshop. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
His funeral will be held at ELEVEN AM, Wednesday, May 24th in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 446 Hamilton Street, Southbridge. Calling hours are 5:00 to 8:00PM Tuesday May 23rd, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge.
