THE FINAL VOYAGE
Gary R. Jerome, went home to be with the Lord in the early hours of April 28, 2005. His wife, Gloria Ann V. Jerome was by his side. He was diagnosed with Melanoma cancer three months ago and fought a courageous battle. He was born in Westfield, MA child of Joseph M. Jerome and Elsie R. Fritz. He graduated from the U.S Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. He sailed the seven seas from 1960-1968. He received his Bachelor of Science in marine transportation and a Bachelor of Arts in education.
He married Gloria Ann V. Colucci in 1970 and they resided in Toms River, New Jersey for 15 years. In 1985, he and his family moved to Sturbridge, Ma.
Merit/Hess Oil Corporation employed him for 31 years before retiring at the age of 57. Recently, he was a substitute teacher at Tantasqua Jr. High School. Gary was a true outdoors man. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting and loved going to the Jersey Shore. He died at the age of 62. He will be missed dearly. He has left behind four children Glenn, Gina, GaryVito, and SarahKay and a son in-law Clark along with two grandchildren Gianni and Jacob. He is also survived by his father Joseph, stepmother Gail, brothers Dean, James, Jeffrey, and sister Denise.
A calling hour from FIVE PM to SIX PM, Monday, May 2 in the BELANGER-BULLARD FUNERAL HOME 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. A memorial service will follow at SIX PM. Burial will be private in North Cemetery, Sturbridge.
