Brookfield – Frank F. “Frankie” Leo died peacefully at home on December 9th . Born in Southbridge on October 4, 1951, he was the son of the late Francis F. and Theresa (Latour) Leo. He lived in Sturbridge before moving to Brookfield in 1989.
He leaves his wife of 30 years, Karen (Bullard) Leo, and his three children, son Myles Leo of Worcester, and daughters Maida and Hannah Leo, both of Brookfield. He was predeceased by his daughter Hillary Leo. Frankie also leaves his siblings: Francis Jacques of Southbridge, Dennis Leo of Spencer, Phyllis Chartier of Ware, Richard Leo of Charlton, and Theresa Leo and Michael Leo, both of Sturbridge. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his good friend David Roscioli of Sturbridge.
He attended local schools, receiving a degree in Criminal Justice from Quinsigamond in 1992. He served on the Sturbridge Police Department from 1977-2003, and was the supervisor of the successful Sturbridge Police Explorer Program.
Frankie served with the 503 MP Company stationed in Frankfurt Germany from 1971-1973. He served in the 94th MP Company in Boston in 1986, then the 366th MP Detachment CID as a Special Agent, retiring in 2012. On 9/11 he was deployed to Washington D.C. where he performed protective service details for top military officials such as the Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and others.
Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Notre Dame Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 446 Main St., Southbridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM, also at the Church. Please go directly to the Church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
