Ernest Scott Hill

CHARLTON - Ernest Scott “Bunky” Hill passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in Daytona, FL.  His wife of 58 years, Audrey Ruth (Cummings) Hill, died in 2004.  He leaves four children, James Scott Hill, of Worcester, Susan Jean Nichols, of Charlton, Sandra Jane Ellis, and Richard Jay Hill, both of Port Orange, FL; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by two sons, Randall Ernest Hill and John Gary Hill.

 

Bunky was born in Whitinsville and lived in the Charlton area most of his life.  He worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, and in 1971, took early retirement and moved to Daytona Beach. In Daytona, he owned and operated the Seminole Motel until 1976.  He moved to the Hamlet in Port Orange and became Chief of Security for Days Inn Hotel chain.  

 

Bunky’s whole life revolved around his family and his love of sports.  For many years, he was involved with the Charlton Little League serving as their only coach.  He enjoyed basketball, baseball, and football, and was an avid fan of the Orlando Magic, Boston Red Sox, and Miami Dolphins.  He also enjoyed fishing and traveling.  He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
