BRIMFIELD - Emily B. (Gilman) Faxon, 97, of Rt. 20, died Friday, June 17, in Overlook Masonic Healthcare. She was predeceased by her husband, Luther Faxon.
She leaves two sisters, Betty Barr, of Brimfield and Feralyn Watson, of Delray Beach, FL; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brothers, Arthur Gilman and Harry Gilman, and by her sisters, Barbara Graham and Shirley Gilman.
She was born in Anson, Maine, the daughter of Ralph S. and Lottie (Graham) Gilman and lived in the area for many years. She graduated from Madison High School in Madison, Maine, class of 1931. In 1932, Emily moved to Southbridge where she worked for the American Optical as a bookkeeper. With her husband, Luther, they ran the Faxon Poultry Farm.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Southbridge, the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a past Matron, the Odd Fellows, and the Southbridge Grange. She enjoyed travelling, photography, hooking rugs, and decorating cakes.

A private graveside service was held in Brimfield Cemetery. The Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
