UXBRIDGE: Emile E. Guertin, 90, formerly of Uxbridge and Northbridge, died Wednesday, March 6, at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster.
He leaves his wife of 62 years Jeannine (Vallee) Guertin; 3 daughters, Paula J. and her husband Kenneth Tancrell of Titusville, FL; Prisilla A and her husband William Ennis of Townsend; Janet L. and her husband Daniel Daigle of Southbridge; 6 grandchildren Christopher and his wife Jennifer Tancrell of Germantown, TN; Kyle and his wife Kate Tancrell of Palm Harbor, FL; Matthieu and his wife Marissa Ennis of Irvine, CA; Sarah Daigle and her fiancé Philip Baldyga of Southbridge, Daniel Daigle of Southbridge and Stephen Ennis of Medford; 2 great-grandchildren Joshua and Caitlin Tancrell. Emile was a WWII Army veteran serving in the Philippines. He worked and retired from the Whitin Machine Co. in 1985 after 45 years of service. In his retirement he and his wife traveled to and spent winters in St. Petersburg, FL, and during the summers they spent time at their camp on Lake Manchaug. He enjoyed camping with his family, square dancing, and playing cards. He could be seen working in his vegetable garden during the growing months and was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. His Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00AM Monday, April 8 at Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood Ave, North Uxbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to Whitinsville Retirement Society, 10 Chestnut St. Whitinsville, MA 01588.
