SOUTHBRIDGE – Eleanor P. (French) Morse, 85, of Woodstock Rd., died Thursday, May 14, in Harrington Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. She leaves her husband of 62 years, Wayne H. Morse; a son, Randal W. Morse, of Southbridge; nieces and nephews, Natalie Moore, of Hawaii, Amy O’Brien, of California, and Jeannie LeGrand, of Cape Cod; nephews, David Morse of Los Angles, CA, and Paul Sansoucy, of Ohio, Marshall Morse of Southbridge, Cheryl Morse of Spencer, Mitchell Morse of Maine, brother in law Marvin Morse of Southbridge. She was predeceased by a brother in law Gradon Morse and sister in law Evelyn Sansoucy-McClennan.
She was born on October 25, 1923, in Worcester, the daughter of the late Leo and Eva (Pratt) French. She lived in the Southbridge area for most of her life.
She was instrumental in the creation and business activities of the Morse Farm Stand, which she worked at for more than 30years. She truly enjoyed and loved going to work each day where she interacted with each and every customer.
She enjoyed cooking and particularly loved to make apple crisp and sweet and sour beans. She also enjoyed square dancing and spending time with her family.
A private service was held in Morse Neighborhood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
