Sturbridge: Eileen M. (MacNeil) Pote, 89, of Fiske Hill Rd. died, Friday, February 10th, at
Harrington Memorial Hospital peacefully, after an illness. She leaves her husband of 63
years, Lloyd W. Pote; three sons Dr. Douglas A. Pote and his wife Hope of Chihowie, Va.;
Jeffrey L. Pote of Tokyo, Japan; Bruce M. Pote and his wife Yaska of Sturbridge; a
daughter Barbara P. and her husband Mark Murphy of Sturbridge; her twin sister Elaine
Chase of Weston; eight grandchildren Jeffrey R. Pote, Michael A. Pote, Greg P. Murphy,
Janlyn P. Murphy, Arthur L. Pote, Miranda Pote, Austin Pote, Tanner Pote, and several
nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers Robert MacNeil, Richard
MacNeil, Dana MacNeil, and three sisters Betty Grant, Jane MacNeil, Barbara Buck.
Mrs. Pote graduated from Medford High School. She volunteered many years for the
American Red Cross Blood Bank. She taught Sunday School, braided rugs, enjoyed
playing bridge and cross word puzzles.
Her funeral will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, Feb. 13th, at the Sturbridge Federated
Church, Rt.131 and Maple Street, Sturbridge. Burial will follow in North Cemetery.
