Earle L. Barnes

SOUTHBRIDGE: Earle L. Barnes, 79, of Southbridge, passed away on January 7, 2023 at UMass Harrington Hospital.

He leaves his loving wife of 49 years Dorothy (Fuller) Barnes of Southbridge; his brother Carlee Barnes of Richford, VT; his sisters Ellen Landry of St. Albans, VT, Christine Gearhart of Pittsfield, MA; his Aunt Lila Towle of Charlton, MA; 2 nephews James Chernisky of Pittsfield, MA and Michael Chernisky of Southbridge, MA.

Earl was one of 13 children. He was predeceased his parents Earle and Edith (Bond) Barnes; his brothers Everett Barnes and Perry Barnes, and his sisters Karen Barnes and Pearl Durgan.

Earle worked at Charlton Woolen as a millhand for many years. He enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. He liked spending time with his friends in Southbridge sitting on the bench in the town center talking to them.

Earle’s family would like to say a special thank you to the ICC unit staff at UMass Harrington for taking care of Earle and the Southbridge EMT’s.
