CHARLTON: Douglas P. Hutchinson, 64, of Robert Blvd, passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, April 17, at Harrington Hospital with his loving family members at his side.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 26 years Brenda (Libby) Hutchinson; a step daughter Keri Cody and her fiancée Tyler Douclos of Dayville, CT; 2 sisters Deborah Mogavero and her husband Dave of Westerly, RI; Donna Reynolds of Southbridge, MA; his aunt Faith and uncle Will Houle of Clarksburg, West Virginia; a step grandson Corey Leoni, and several nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces, his mother-in-law Maxine Libby and father-in-law Stanley Libby,his sister-in-laws Linda Libby, Valerie Riel, Stella Bonin and her husband John Bonin, Shelia Goodspeed and Julie Libby.
Doug was born in Southbridge, the son of Donald and June (Byron) Hutchinson and lived in the area all his life. He graduated from Cole Trade High School in Southbridge. During the 1970’s he was a Volunteer Fire Fighter in Southbridge.
He worked for New England Auto body for 26 years and retired as a truck driver for Bermer Tool Co. in Southbridge.
Doug was a member of the Central Mass Wanders Club over 25 years. He had a passion for restoring vintage cars. His latest project was building a rat rod with his friend Tex.
Doug had a love for all creatures and enjoyed feeding them and spending time with them.
Doug will be greatly missed from all who knew him.
His funeral will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, April 23, in the Charlton City United Methodist Church, Stafford St, Charlton, MA. Burial will follow at Northside Cemetery.
Calling hours are 5:00PM to 8:00PM; Tuesday, April 22, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge.
