Dorothy Marsh

October 22, 1912 — August 20, 2016

 

Southbridge – Dorothy Hunt Marsh, 103, of Southbridge and formerly of Dudley, passed away on August 20, 2015.  She was the wife of Homer E. Marsh, who passed away in 1988.  Dorothy was born in Southbridge on October 22, 1912, daughter of the late Walter Sr. and Charlotte (Adams) Hunt.  She graduated from Mary E. Wells High School.  Dorothy lived in Southbridge until her marriage to Homer at which point they moved to Dudley to live in a lovely home, formerly a remodeled schoolhouse in which they took great pride. 

 

Dorothy was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in Dudley, and a member of its Women’s Benevolent Society.   She was a lifetime member of the Dudley Grange, joining as a teenager.  She had a love of history, genealogy, and she especially enjoyed camping at various locations on Cape Cod with her daughter until age 100.

 

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Charlotte L’Heureux and her husband Richard of Southbridge, and her son H. Clinton Marsh and his wife Ann of Framingham; four grandchildren, David and his wife Sheryl and Steven and his wife Tracy L’Heureux, and Christopher and Scott Marsh; and three great grandchildren, Erique L’Heureux and Patrick and Isabella Marsh.  She was predeceased by her brothers Kenneth and Walter Hunt and by sisters Marion Simons and Bernice Aborn.

Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, 135 Center Rd., Dudley, MA 01571.
