SOUTHBRIDGE: Doris C. (Burnell) Howlett, 84, formerly of Therese Ave. died, Saturday, June 21, at Overlook Masonic Healthcare. Her husband Edgar Howlett died in 1995.
She leaves her daughters Sharon and her husband Bert Doyen of Brimfield: Patricia and her husband Larry Cantara of Charlton; Catherine Howlett of Alabama; her sons Richard Howlett of Wisconsin; Robert Howlett and his wife Deborah of Sturbridge; her brother-in-law Donald Baker of Dudley; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister Barbara Baker on June 19, 2014.
Doris was born in Pittsfield and lived in the Southbridge area many years.
She worked for the American Optical Company and retired from Harrington Memorial Hospital.
She enjoyed crocheting, Gospel Music and Big Band Music.
The family would like to thank Overlook Nurses and Hospice Team for making their mother comfortable and giving her a “safe” feeling during her final days.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, June 27, at 2:30PM in Bourne National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
