STURBRIDGE: Donald P. L\'Ecuyer, 70, of Chamberlain St. passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 17, in his home after a short illness. He leaves his wife of 27 years DeAnna \"Dee\" (Deardorf) L\'Ecuyer, two sons Ronald B. L\'Ecuyer and his wife Maryann of Galt, Calif., Doug Mutton of Sturbridge, three daughters Grace Chin and her husband Ronald of Mill Valley, Calif., Gloria Whalen and her husband Steven of Davis, Calif, Gail L\'Ecuyer of Tustin, Calif., a sister Judith Toscano of Chelmsford, 11 grandchildren, 4 great granddaughters and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother Roger \"Mike\" L\'Ecuyer. He was born in Fitchburg the son of Philip B. and Eleanor (Hughes) L\'Ecuyer.
Donald retired as Master Sergeant from the US Air Force in 1980 after serving 24 years. He served two tours in Vietnam. After his retirement he drove for Rubens Transportation and King Courier for several years. He was a member and a former deacon at the Sturbridge Federated Church. He was also a member of the VFW Post 6055 in Southbridge. During his youth he was a Boy Scout. In recent years, he often could be seen taking pride in cleaning the Sturbridge Town Common.
His funeral will be held at 9:00AM Friday, October 19th, in the Sturbridge Federated Church, Rt. 131 and 8 Maple St. Sturbridge. Burial will be at 2:00PM in Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery, Agawam. Calling hours are 7:00 to 9:00PM, Thursday, October 18th, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge.
