CHARLTON: Donald W. Hutchinson, 87, of Roberts Blvd. died Friday, May 8th
after being stricken ill. His was predeceased by his wife June B. (Byron) Hutchinson (2001). He leaves a son Doug "Hutchie" Hutchinson and his wife Brenda (Coty) of Charlton; two daughters Deborah Mogavero and her husband Dave of Westerly, RI; Donna of Southbridge, widow of Richard G Reynolds (1994); six grandchildren, Scott and Chris Mogavero, Grace Mogavero-Dinwoodie, Amanda, Carly and Nicholas Reynolds, five great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, his sister in law Faith (Byron) Houle and her husband Wilfred R. Houle of Largo, FL. He was predeceased by his two brothers Lawrence and Kenneth Hutchinson. He was born in Palmer, the son of William and Bernice (Colburn) Hutchinson, a graduate from Mary E. Wells and Cole Trade School as a tool and dye maker. He was a naval veteran of WW II. He was a prominent member and trustee of the Charlton City United Mehodist Church, he helped on the building committee and served at the church suppers. He worked many years at the American Optical Co and Dexter Russell. He was a member of the Quinebaug Lodge of Masons AF & AM, the Doric Royal Arch Chapter, and an member of the South Charlton Reservoir Association. He enjoyed his trade, boating, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, serving and working with others, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, May 13th, in the Charlton City United Methodist Church, 72 Stafford Rd, Charlton. Calling hours are 5:00PM to 8:00PM, Tuesday, May 12, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge.
