Dennis Rankel

SOUTHBRIDGE: WORCESTER;  Dennis J. Rankel, 50, formerly of Southbridge, died Saturday, March 14, at St. Vincent’s Hospital after being stricken ill at home. He leaves his longtime companion Shirley Burchfield, his parents Robert and Eleanor (Crete) Rankel of Southbridge; a sister Barbara Cordell and her husband Robert of Southbridge; a brother Robert Rankel and his wife Marie of Bremerton, WA: two nephews Robert J. Rankel; and Robert Cordell and his fiancée Meaghan and their child Caleb; a niece Sarah LaVergne and her husband Zachary.

He graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School class of 1977 and attended St. Mary’s School and Marianhill.

He worked as a handyman for many years.  He was a very generous and a giving person with his time and abilities and willing to help anyone.

He was an avid Boston sports fan especially the Boston Bruins. He enjoyed drawing.

His funeral will be held at 10:00AM Wednesday, March 18^th in St. Mary’s Church, Hamilton St. Southbridge. Calling hours are 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday, March 17, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Woodstock Rd. Southbridge.
