SOUTHBRIDGE â?? Cory H. Bettencourt, 35, of Southbridge, died suddenly Wednesday, June 25, 2008. He leaves his daughter, Nichole Haley, of Ware, his son, Cory Bettencourt, Jr., of Southbridge; his mother, Sheila (Matteras) Mongeon, of Southbridge; his grandparents, Wilfred and Thelma Johnson, of Oxford; one brother, Shawn Johnson, of Oxford; one sister, Nichole Cohen, of Southbridge; an adopted sister, Kelly Towle; and many other family members and friends. One daughter, Jessica Bettencourt, predeceased him.
Cory was born on January 6, 1973, in Worcester, MA. He graduated from Bay Path High School as a machinist, class of 1991. He worked as a long-haul truck driver for many years. Cory enjoyed spending time with his children, fixing computers, playing pool, and fishing with his brother.
A memorial service will be held at 6pm, Thursday, July 3, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge, MA 01550. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cory Bettencourt Memorial Fund, Southbridge Savings Bank, Main St., Southbridge, MA 01550.
