SOUTHBRIDGE – Constance M. (Desourdy) Bailey, 79, of South St., died Monday, May 4, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, after an illness. Her husband, Clarence Bailey, died in 1992. She leaves three sons, Thomas Bailey, of Worcester, Donald Bailey, and Paul Bailey, both of Southbridge; six daughters, Diane Trombley, of Georgia, Irene St. George, of Pennsylvania, Elaine Escobar, Joanne Soto, Deborah Bailey, and Louise Bailey, all of Southbridge; three brothers, Robert Desourdy, of South Carolina, Paul Desourdy, Sturbridge, and Raymond Desourdy, of Southbridge; two sisters, Eva Daigle, of Webster, and Theresa Barrett, of Florida; 63 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Romeo Desourdy, Hector Desourdy, and Donald Desourdy, and a sister, Gloria Vetter, all predeceased her.
She was born on August 7, 1929, in Southbridge, the daughter of the late Joseph and Irene (Blais) Desourdy, and lived in the area her entire life. She worked for Plasticom in Southbridge for 15 years. She enjoyed sewing, playing bingo, and going for drives in the car, especially to the Casinos.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, May 7th at Notre Dame Church, Main St., Southbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Support Network, PO BOX 839, Southbridge, Ma. 01550 or to Notre Dame Church, 61 Marcy St. Southbridge, Ma 01550
