STURBRIDGE – Claudia M. (Porrier) Gervais, 95, of Park Circle, died at Overlook Masonic Health Center on Wednesday, Oct. 06, after an illness. Her husband, Antonio T. Gervais, died in 1973. She leaves three daughters, Doris J. Atherton, of Sturbridge, Peggy Bernadone, of Texas, and Carol Sarwar of Milford, CT; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Theresa Sikora; four sisters, Jeannette M. Petit, Alice Arsenault, Emilia Cournoyer, and Aldea Porrier; two brothers, Peter Porrier and Joseph “Red” Porrier.
She was born in St. Louis, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Delina (Caplette) Porrier. She and her husband owned and operated the Village Motel and L’Ami Restaurant both in Sturbridge. In 1969, she moved to Stuart, Florida.
She enjoyed walking outdoors, ceramics, reading, arts and crafts, sewing, and making Rosary Beads.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10AM, Monday, October 11, in St. Anne’s Church, Church St., Fiskdale section of Sturbridge. Burial will be at 11AM, Tuesday, October 12, in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Arnold Rd., Sturbridge.
