Catherine Laing

SOUTHBRIDGE: Catherine M. (Higgins) Laing, 68, of Roger St. died Wednesday, Dec. 8, at Harrington Hospital after being stricken ill at home. Her first husband Clifford Bolduc died in 1998.  She leaves her husband Max Laing, a daughter Marie and her husband Paul Tremblay of Southbridge, a brother Daniel Higgins of No. Brookfield, 3 sisters Margaret Higgins-Belanger of Fiskdale, Robin Giguere of Southbridge, Kellie Petrelli of Southbridge, two grandchildren Kelsie and Stephen. She was predeceased by a brother John “Pinky” Higgins. 

She was born in Portland, Maine the daughter of the late John and Frances (McNally) Higgins and lived in the area most of her life.  

She graduated from Mary E. Wells High School in 1959. Cathy worked for the American Optical, Sola, Aero and retired from Boniface Tool and Die.

She was a member of Notre Dame Church and was a member and trustee FOE #334 Laides Aux.

She enjoyed camping at Oak Heaven Campground in Wales.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00PM Sunday, Dec. 12, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Calling hours are 1:00PM to 4:00PM prior to the service.
