STURBRIDGE : Carol G. (Phillips) Coffey, 72, of Shore Road, died Friday, July 14 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
She leaves her husband of 47 years Leland Coffey; their daughter JoAnn Sandgren and her husband Shawn of Southbridge MA; three stepchildren son Robert Coffey and his wife Wipaporn of Whitehouse, TX; 2 daughters Robin Janda and her husband Peter of Bowdon, GA; Lynn Hudson and her husband Scott of Plymouth, ME; 11 grandchildren Richie, Amy, Michael, Erin, Sean, Brandon, Matthew, Nathan, Emilyrose, Kody and Kaden. 7 great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her sisters Dolores Milne in 2015 and Muriel Fletcher in 1988.
Born in Springfield she was the daughter of the late Myron and Ethel (Rock) Phillips and lived in the area many years. She and her husband would travel to California during the winter months.
Carol was a member of the Sturbridge Federated Church and at one-time taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Mountain Top Community Church in Pine Flat, California.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, bowling, bingo, going out to eat with "the lunch bunch"and dart throwing but most of all she enjoyed her family & friends.
Her funeral will be held at 10AM, Thursday, July 20, in the Sturbridge Federated Church, at the corner of Route 131 and Maple Street in Sturbridge. Burial will follow in North Cemetery.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, July 19, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge.
