Carl A. Todd

Carl A. Todd, 64, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023.  A Massachusetts native and Auburn High alum, Carl was a respected athlete, known for his leadership in basketball (co-captain and all-star), and in football. His high school friends fondly recall "Toddy" for the joy and laughter he brought to their lives.

Carl held a Bachelor's degree from the University of Maine, Orono where he was a member of Phi Eta Kappa. He earned a Master's in Exercise Science from the University of Arizona. 

Carl loved his family, their dogs (Tucson, Dottie, Charlie), running, and Bruce Springsteen. He went on to complete 16 marathons and 9 Bruce Springsteen concerts, most recently with his daughters at Gillette Stadium this past summer.

Early in his career, he was a personal trainer at the Sports Training Institute in New York City, and then, moved into the banking industry where he worked as a mortgage loan originator at several banks in Massachusetts.

He is survived by his children, Scott, Sally, and Abi; his former wife, Heather Todd of Medfield; his stepmother, Jane Todd of Leicester; his brother, Paul (Karen) Todd of Charlton and stepbrothers Thomas (Patty) Southard of Leicester, Robert (Diane) Southard of Dudley; and his stepsister, Mary Ann (John) De Polo of Amesbury, his aunts Florence Gustafson, Agnes Neal, and Jean Schunmann, his uncle William (Janet) Dale in addition to many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Andrew, his parents Kenneth and Mary Todd, and his brother Robert.

Carl's laughter, perseverance, hope, and spirit remain an inspiration to all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service that will be held at the United Church of Christ (496 Main Street, Medfield, MA) on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:30am followed by a reception in the church’s Fellowship Hall.
