Bruce Guardiani

December 24, 1949 — October 31, 2018

STURBRIDGE: Bruce A. Guardiani, 75, died Wednesday, October 31, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He leaves his wife of 49 years Joan E. (DelNegro) Guardiani, a brother Allan Guardiani and his wife Rachel of Brimfield, a sister Betsey Julian and her husband Dennis of Sturbridge, sister-in law Jean Gould and her husband Edward of Worcester, brother-in-law J.R.Pitt and his wife Susan of West Chatham, several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Donald Guardiani. Bruce was born in Southbridge the son of the late Albert F. and Jean Sarah (McKinstry) Guardiani and lived in the area all his life. He graduated from Mary E. Wells High School and studied at Worcester Jr. College earning Magnum Cum Laude honors. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree. He retired from Verizon after 25 years of service as an engineer and belonged to the Telephone Pioneers. He was an active member of the Charlton City United Methodist Church where he shared his love for cooking at church functions. Bruce was an avid golfer and was a former member of Cohasse Country Club and a current member of Hemlock Ridge Golf Course where he played in many leagues and special tournaments. He was a longtime active member of Quinebaug Masonic Lodge AF & AM in Southbridge. He was a member of Doric Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Hiram Council of Royal and Select Master Masons, Worcester County Commandry #5 Knight Templar. His funeral will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, November 7, in Charlton City United Methodist Church, 74 Stafford St. Charlton. Calling hours will be held 9:30AM to 11:00AM prior to the service in the church.
