Barbara Taylor

QUINEBAUG, Ct. Barbara (Carlson) Taylor, 68, of Green Acre Lane, died Tuesday, April 5th in UMASS Medical Center University Campus after an illness. She leaves her husband of forty nine years Richard Taylor; two sons Brian Taylor of No. Monmouth, Maine; Jeffrey Taylor of Fairfield, Ct,; two daughters Marsha Olson of Cape Coral, Fl.; Karen Fitzpatrick of San Diego, Ca.; three brothers, Richard Carlson of Shelton,WA; Gary Carlson of Niantic,CT; Kenneth Carlson of Allen, TX; a sister Patsy Stevens of Narragansett, RI.; and ten grandchildren. She was born in Providence, the daughter of the late Russell and Margaret (Blake) Carlson and lived in Quinebaug for 42 years. She was a paraprofessional for first grade classes at Mary Fisher Elementary School in Thompson for thirty years. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Elm Street Congregational Church, and the Women' s Fellowship where she served as treasurer.She enjoyed singing in the church' s choir and was a member of the Quinebaug Valley Singers. She was an avid U-Conn Husky fan, a member and treasurer of the Foxy Red Hatters, enjoyed traveling and reading. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at ELEVEN AM, SATURDAY April 9th, in the Elm Street Congregational Church, Elm Street Southbridge. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elm Street Congregational Church, Memorial Fund, PO Box 723 Southbridge, Ma. 01550.
