GRAFTON/CHARLTON: Barbara P. (Perkins) Butler, 90, of 88 Masonic Home
Rd. Charlton, formerly of Grafton, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Memorial
Hospital after being stricken ill at home.
She leaves 2 sons Robert S Butler of West Brookfield; Glenn W Butler
of Grants, NM; a daughter Margaret B Platts of Emmaus, PA; 9
grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was born in Biddeford,
ME, the daughter of Christopher and Isabel (Lothrop) Perkins. She
graduated from Thornton Academy, Saco, ME and attended William & Mary
College.
She lived in Maine many years before moving to Seattle, WA, Waltham,
MA, Springfield, VT, Northboro, MA Grafton, MA, Macungie, PA, then
back to Grafton MA before moving to Charlton, MA in 2011.
Mrs. Butler was the Librarian at Data General for several years and
previously worked for many years at Johnson steel and Wire as head of
the billing department. She was a lifetime member or the Order of the
Eastern Star alpha chapter 53, member of the Grafton Historical
Society, and the American Quilters Society.
She spent many winters in Hilton Head Island, SC.
Her memorial service will be at 12:30 PM, Sunday, Feb. 10, at the
First Congregational Church, RT. 9 on the Common, West Brookfield, MA.
Burial will be held in the spring at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco, ME.
