Anthony DiGregorio
December 15, 1920 — March 10, 2019
SOUTHBRIDGE - Anthony DiGregorio, 98, formerly of Worcester Street, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2019, in the Southbridge Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
His wife of 60 years, Betty Grace Weaver, passed away at the age of 90 in 2016. Tony leaves a daughter Dara Amore, of Carolina, Rhode Island, two step-daughters, Carol A. Auty, of Medway, MA and Susan M. Barone, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, three sisters-in-law, Nancy Presutti and Louise Presutti, both of Southbridge, MA and Alice DiGregorio, of Charlton, MA and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his son, William Joel DiGregorio, his three brothers, Frank DiGregorio, William Presutti and Albert Presutti, and four sisters, Mary Lachapelle, Lena Delmore, Ellen Vigilante and Esther Coffey.
Anthony was born in Southbridge, the son of Luigi and Therese (DiPietro) DiGregorio and lived here all of his life. Anthony worked for many years for William “Giddy” Laliberte as a painter. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 80 years, Tony was a devoted member of the Southbridge Congregation and was very active in his ministry. He loved teaching the Bible and sharing his faith with others. He enjoyed family gatherings and vacationing in Maine.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the Staff at Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for the kindness and compassion they extended to Tony throughout the years of caring for him.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at 3:00 P.M. at the Oxford Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 52 Old Webster Road, Oxford, MA. A private burial took place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Southbridge.
