SOUTHBRIDGE - Anne (Litchfield) Shaw, 87, of Southbridge, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, at Harrington Hospital.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, John C. Shaw Sr.; her son John C. Shaw Jr. and his wife Paige of Sturbridge; her daughter Jean Pierce and her husband John of State College, PA; and her brother John Litchfield of Waltham. Anne also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Jordan, Madison, Cassidy, Tristan, Adrienne, Ian, and Maximilien, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Born in Worcester, Anne was the daughter of Andrew W. and Jean (Somers) Litchfield. She spent many years living in Framingham and Southbridge before moving to Maine for a time, eventually returning to Southbridge.
Anne graduated from Framingham High School in 1956 and pursued further education at Chandler School for Women in Boston. She served as a secretary for the Framingham School Department for several years before contributing her talents to the Educational Department at Old Sturbridge Village.
A dedicated member of the Elm Street Congregational Church, Anne participated in the Women’s Fellowship and served on the visitation committee. She also held membership at Old Sturbridge Village. In her free time, she found joy in knitting, sewing, and playing cribbage, but her greatest joy was her family.
Anne will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loving family and friends.
All are welcome to celebrate Anne's life on Wednesday, January 8, at the Elm Street Congregational Church, 61 Elm Street, Southbridge. Calling hours will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the church Vestry, immediately followed by the Celebration of Life service in the Sanctuary at 11:00. There will be a collation meal for all guests in the church Fellowship Hall after the service. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Central Cemetery, Halifax, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104, or online at [Love to the Rescue](https://donate.lovetotherescue.org).
