Abdon Melendez

SOUTHBRIDGE: Abdon Melendez, 72, of Henry St. died Jan. 25, in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, CT.

He leaves his son Abdon Melendez of Southbridge, 2 daughters Brenda Melendez of Southbridge and Nelly Ana Melendez of Levittown, PR; a sister Olga Melendez of Levittown, PR; 3 grandchildren Shalom, Natyarie Villanueva, Jaidyn Grace Melendez.

He was predeceased by his parents Abdon Melendez Quiñónez and Nelly Pagan Vila, a sister Maria Melendez and his longtime companion Madeline Zavala

Abdon was a long-haul tractor driver based out of New York and Florida.

He was member of St. John Paul II parish and belonged to John 23rd.  

He enjoyed listening to music, cooking and being with his family.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 1, from the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge, followed with a Mass at 11AM, in St. Mary’s Church, Hamilton St. Southbridge.

Calling hours at the funeral home are 5 to 8PM, Tuesday, Jan 31st.

Interment will be in Santuario Arquidiocesano Santo Cristo de la Reconciliation, in Puerto Rico.
